Guiding the way to wellness

Counseling provides space and guidance to face challenges that often arise in daily life. Common struggles bringing clients to therapy include: Communication problems, relationship issues, post or peripartum difficulties, parenting stress, infidelity, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, life-cycle transitions, and health issues among other common complaints.

Therapeutic theories and influences that I find beneficial in my practice are systems theory, communication theory, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and emotionally focused couples therapy.  I view myself as a guide in helping clients discover strengths, solutions, and insight that support them in reaching their goals.

Clients seen in my practice include couples, individual adults, adolescents over 15, and families. Client's may have goals around finding happiness, improving communication or connection in relationships, or managing difficult emotions. I can provide guidance and support in the process of reaching your goals. Clients often find themselves feeling more hopeful and motivated after their first session.

I specialize in work with couples and peri-partum issues. After offering support and advice in a midwifery setting, I have gained comfort and experience working with expecting and new parents with common relationship issues and peripartum mood struggles. My passion is creating a safe base where parents can feel confident in their roles and abilities.

For those experiencing emotional or relationship distress, therapy can be a supportive and simple way to increase clarity, confidence, and happiness. Your work will reflect your values, emotions, and logic, helping you reach goals that have otherwise felt too difficult to reach on your own. I hope to help you identify your strengths and feel more fulfilled.

Clients often find that therapy grants them insight, motivation, and confidence to solve their own problems. Clients often benefit from reflection and a neutral perspective while navigating difficult adjustments and emotions. I believe in the strength and capability of my clients, and often hold hope for them while they find it for themselves. I use a strengths-based, direct approach to provide clear, compassionate guidance and support. Please call or email if you think I might be a good therapeutic fit.
